Introduction to Art Clay Silver
Begin the exploration of a wonderful new medium for Jewelry creation! This class touches on the forms of Silver Art Clay and it’s many applications while you create your own piece of pure silver jewelry. Learn how to form, fire and finish your silver pieces, while unleashing your imagination to this wide realm of creativity.
Some of the projects to explore in this full day workshop will be:
w Pendants with textures and free form folding of clay with layers and cuttouts. Make bails for pendants as well as creating earrings of many types.
w Lace work-we work with cork clay and other products to make forms for hollow beads, lacy shapes for earrings and light airy pendants.
w In addition, use the syringe to embellish all of your Silver Art clay work
w Paste type- learn the use of any organic item for use as a template design, such as leaves, twigs and feathers.
w Rings -Apply your Silver Clay skills to making rings. In this section, learn to correctly size your rings as well as techniques to ensure strength and comfort of your final designs.
Bezels and Setting Stones with Silver Art Clay
Learn the techniques needed to include both faceted stones as
well as every day found objects into your masterpieces.
There are many ways to include stones and found objects
into your Silver Art Clay creations and we will cover a majority of them
in this full day workshop. We will introduce you to a beginning level of
silversmith work that enhances your Silver Art Clay experience,
to ensure proper fit and security of stones within your designs.
Previous Silver Clay experience is required for students to register
for this class.
